Join us for an Italian cultural immersion in the mountain top village of Lenola, Italy. Away from tourist traps, indulge in home-cooked meals prepared by the local family of Salvatore Macaro, while exploring local life. Affectionately known as Sal, and locally as Totore, Sal is an Italian citizen, and a native speaker with his family still residing throughout the town of Lenola. This retreat will put you in the seat of a local, not only with the planned events and day trips, but with the authentic Italian experiences you won’t find anywhere in tour books. Get into the nightlife, markets, pop-up festivals, regional food, local sites, private guided tours, and events that are “off the beaten path” and authentically Italian. Yoga and meditation will be offered to help you stay grounded and present in your experience. It’s time to disconnect from your phone, habits, and daily routine, and experience a simpler way of life built around love, food, and living in the moment.

Food Culture

No trip to Italy would be complete without delicious food. To make this retreat even more special, our main meals will be prepared by Sal’s very own family members still living in the village. Each meal will feature the freshest farm to table ingredients and regional signature dishes. Buffalo’s milk mozzarella, wild mushrooms, cheeses, olives, fresh seafood, and wines are just a few of the Italian food staples here. Meals will be eaten together as a community in the “host house” located in the center of the village.

Accommodations

To fully experience the essence of Italian culture, local village apartments will be your home for the week. You will have the freedom to explore, eat, sleep in, shop, and soak in the energy of this bustling town at your own pace. All apartments are slightly different in style and located in the historic district of town. Having access to the extremely friendly local cafes, bars, and shops will allow you to not only see the culture, but be completely immersed and a part in it.
